Shops, online and stores

Four Cow Farm Baby Skincare
A range of 100% natural baby washes, lotions, oils and balms. I am proud to say, they are handmade on the farm in Australia by a family-friend of mine. Available from numerous stockists in Singapore and further afield, and from their online store. Fantastic for dry, sensitive skins and eczema prone skin.

Kiddy Palace
For all things kid related. These stores are pretty comprehensive and I think the local equivalent to Mothercare in the UK, perhaps slightly more toys. In the past I have bought baby clothes, toddler boys clothes, Bubblebum booster seats, school shoes, padded foam play mats and bubbles(!) from the Westgate Shopping Centre and Jurong Point stores. The Jurong Point store is the biggest I have found and has good parking, or MRT nearby. Don’t forget to sign up for VIP card online or in store before you pay for 10% off full price items. There is a $10 fee for the card which I recouped the first time I used it.

Bohemian Butterfly is all about beautiful and eclectic handmade jewellery. You cannot go wrong with jewellery from here. Great presents from you, or to you. Alisha is an immensely talented jeweller selling her own range of earrings, necklaces and more ,available to order online.

 QB Trading – Butcher
A wholesale butchers…but as long as you have a freezer, buying bulk is the way to go. Great range of meats from US and Australia, includes free-range or organic feed food. Bit of a strange buying process – before you go, place an order online for one item, and then fill up your trolley with all the other goodies when you get there.

Redmart online grocery store
Some good bulk buys and single item purchases to be had on this website. Deliveries are free if you purchase enough and delivery slots frequent and time-keeping is good.

The Warehouse Club
Located in Jurong, this wholesale supermarket is modeled on Costco. Carrying many of the Costco brands e.g. Kirkland, it offers great value and bulk buys galore. The parking is super easy, there is a clean, varied and affordable food court in the same building, and navigating round the store itself is easy too. Best two bargains for us were the delicious raspberries, $12 for a mega punnet of really fresh delicious raspberries (a luxury here), and a bulk box of Drypers Diapers for $49 – pretty cheap compared to $120+ you pay for similar at Redmart, or even more at NTUC, Cold Storage or god forbid Villa Market !!$$$!!!!

Expat Auctions
Located on West Coast Highway near the PSA building, this auction house holds regular Saturday morning auctions. A great place to pick up sometimes new stock, sometimes 2nd hand furniture and decor for your home. Statement sofas from Taylor B appear to be in good supply. I grabbed two tulip design armchairs for a bargain $300, and a beautiful wooden engraved dining cupboard for $400. And they deliver large items for reasonable fee. Great fun, just need to keep your paddle in check!
